Sunday Night Brain Dump
To be honest I’m not sure I’m even in a place where I can do justice to all that God did today at Five Stones Church. How can you begin to describe the transformation that our crew does to change the school into a church each week? How can you begin to describe what was once a dream and now how it is reality? Well, I’ll do the best I can. One thing I promised myself was that I would not get caught up in the number game from week to week. Of course when you launch everyone is wanting to know the number. So what was the number? Well let me tell you some of the other things before we get to the number.
- We had a family of four visit with us today and said they have been waiting since May for us to open.
- Getting the angry, over the top, anonymous e-mail late last made me realize that we as a church are not going to make everyone happy. In fact if we make everyone happy then we aren’t doing what we should be doing.
- So proud of our Summit Leadership team and for how they have stepped up so that I can concentrate on the Partner service. Heard Mike did a great job teaching the students.
- Honored to be working out the vision that was set by Carmel Baptist Church. Hope we are making them proud!
- One of my favorite comments of the day: “I can’t believe this is your first day as a church it looks like you have been doing this for years.” What a great job setup team and First Impression Crew.
- Worship was amazing. Heath opening up the service with a new song that he wrote and then coming back to sing How He Loves Us to close out our time.
- Watching people make their next spiritual step as we learned that Jesus is in control of the storms that hit our lives, the storms are never in control.
- Hearing that we had 40 first time families come out today. Then being hit with the thought that I will need to write 40 personal letters when they come back for their second visit. I can feel the hand cramps coming already!!!!!!
- Watching a dear family pray together during the service as they are walking through the Storm of a Job Loss.
- Getting a glimpse of the crowd for the first time. Then realizing that I needed another private moment to thank God for what He was doing and why He was using me.
- Where did the 90 kids come from in our K-5th grade program “Discover Factory”?
- Blessed with the love that both my parents and Shelly’s Mom showed by coming all the way here to support us.
- Blessed to have so many friends that are ready to do church a little different.
- Still not believing that God brought close to 450 people to begin this new work. To Him be the Glory!
- Looking forward to heading out to dinner with the family and then packing to get out of town. Heading out with Ralph to a Coaching Network in Ocala, FL. Need to learn real quick how to be a Pastor of 500 people. Glad God is surrounding us with great mentors.
